The Geo-Images Project and the UCB Geography Computing Facility are hosting the 7th World Wide Panorama event from September 21st to 25th. This season's theme is energy. For those of you aren't familiar with the WWP, the premise is this: four times a year—each solstice and equinox—get as many people as possible to make as many 360° panoramas featuring the theme as possible from as places around the world as possible over the course of a five day period. Panoramas must be shot during the five days of the event, but you have two weeks to create the QTVR panorama and upload it before the server stops accepting submissions.

1. The 'About the Theme - Energy' essay by G. Donald Bain is still marked as "coming soon", but it will be interesting to see how it potentially relates to power generating stations (which was my 1st thought when I heard the theme).
It may be a good time to brush up on the regulations on taking pictures of power plants, and 'infrastructure' in general in this post 9/11 world. I've already been questioned taking a picture of an old, rusted, decommissioned coal power plant here in Toronto (but I like the results, here: http://www.seemsartless.com/index.php?pic=359 )
