In a press release late yesterday (or early today? 4/19 in Japan, after midnight here) Sony formally announced it's new α ("Alpha")camera line, named after the KM lens mount. No details yet other than the name, and some standard marketing hype like"The gateway to inspiration awaits." What we do know is that an unspecified number of cameras--the releasesays "cameras," the website says "camera"--will be launched sometime this Summer and may featureCCD sensors, CMOS sensors, or both. One concrete bit of news: Sony have set up a support site specifically for currentKM owners at http://www.support.sony.com/EN/KM/service.html, although atthe moment it's unavailable due to DNS issues, whether mine or Sony's I'm not sure.

Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
