First off, thereminder. Over the past few days, there have been a couple of really great comments that only Andrew and I have seen. That's a shame. Our CMS, Blogsmith, uses a confirmation system to cut down on comment spam. I know it can be a littlebit of a hassle, but it's better than getting 10 adds for Viagra in the comments of every post. Please take the time toclick on the link in the confirmation email you get when you post!

Second, you've probably noticed a starnext to your name in your comments. It's been there for a while, and you've probably been ignoring it. So have Andrewand I. But no more! We've got it figured out, and will start handing out starts on a regular basis. As you can see fromthe box to the right, some people have already received a star or two. It's our way of saying "thanks" to you,and "hey, this reader is stunningly intelligent" to everyone else.

Last, we've implementedcategories. You notice that the by-line of every post now says "Filed under:". If you scroll down the page, you'll see the different categories in the center text column; you can click on a category to see all the posts ontopics you're interested in. We'll be updating and tweaking the categories as we go along. Old ones probably won'tdisappear, but new ones will certainly be added. We most likely won't go back and add old posts to categories--it wouldbe very time consuming and flag them all as updated in the RSS feed--but from here on out, every post should be filedunder one or more categories. Hopefully this will make it easier for everyone to find things, but don't forget there'sa search box up there, too.

Permalink | Email this | Comments
