Due to a problem where some batteries overheat when connected to an AC adapter or docking station, Hewlett-Packard is recalling 679,000 digital cameras worldwide. Around 224,000 are being recalled from the United States. The problem poses a fire hazard when the camera, HR R707, attempts to apply a charge to a non-rechargeable battery.The cameras were sold at electronic, computer, camera and online stores nationwide from August 2004 through April 2006 for between $250 and $400.
