National Geographic magazine is inviting people to submit digital photos for the newly launched "Your Shot" contest. The contest will
run monthly with editors choosing one of the first 5,000 digital photographs received. And for the lucky winners there
is the added kudos that this will be the first time that National Geographic has published consumer photos in the
magazine.
The current "Your Shot"
winner for April is a very atmospheric photo of a young boy by Sara Kranwinkle of Seattle. The reason why the
image was selected is detailed below the picture and in an audio file.
June's theme is,
"Where I Live." New themes will be announced monthly in National Geographic magazine and on the
website.
