Flickr Backup

fbup

Andrew Serff's Flickr Backup is easily the coolest Flickr hack I've seen to date, and the answer to a problem I've had for a while: how to get pics onto my drive that I uploaded to Flickr on the road from other computers. There are lots of apps out there to upload your shots to Flickr, but this is the first I've come across to do bulk downloads. You can choose which phototos to download in a couple of ways, ranging from "all," to sets, to selecting individual images. Pics can simply be downloaded to the location of your choice, or you can create Zipped archives for long-term storage. Best of all, it's written in Java with cross-platform compatability as a stated design goal.
