Much like Kodak buying Ofoto, and Canon and Nikon buying or investing into similar photo
sharing applications, H-P follows suit and buys Snapfish. The interesting trend here as manufacturers seem to be
looking at photo-sharing to add value beyond the megapixel for the consumer – maybe just trying to follow the
iPod/iTunes model. Of course, we all know that for a Photo Sharing site to be truly successful, it has to be camera
neutral, right? it is just too vain to expect everyone you share pictures with, to have the same camera brand.
Meanwhile, Snapfish promised no immediate changes to their service, though, you can bet they will start using H-P
paper soon.

1. Just wanted to let you know that Kodak didn't buy Ofoto - they have always owned Ofoto. They just realized that they needed to brand it as Kodak, a known name, instead of using Ofoto for the name. If you received any of the notice e-mails about the change, you would see in there that they noted that it was just a name change several times.
