Canon PIXMA iP400 : Perfect Printer?

By now you have figured out the scam. Get the cheap inkjet printer and then end up spending your child' college fund on Ink - add it the guilt of wasting paper by printing on one side. While online/store photo printing is cheap for 4x6s, that is not the reason you dropped all that cash for the 8mp camera right?

 iP4000

Where are those large 8x10 photos in frames?

The coolest thing about Canon printers is that they are very lenient on what kind of ink would work with them. The ink cartridge is a low tech affair and there are many third parties - www.dealink.com - which sell it for 20% of the cost. H-P and Epson are - as many of you may have painfully realized - not happy about third party ink.

Here is PC Magazine and others raving about the Canon PIXMA 4000 - which seems to be the "sweet spot" printer in the newly announced range. Oh yes, it prints on two sides and did great on photo printing tests…about $150 .. lots of other goodies..
